Description

Invasive Phragmites, a reed-like plant orginally from Europe, is quickly spreading to shorelines in Southern Georgian Bay. This plant grows into dense monocultures, taking habitat away from native species and creating walls that block shorelines.

Join us from 5.45 pm to 8.00 pm to learn about what you can do to stop this plant. Topics will include how to identify this plant, why it is so destructive, an overview of management options, training on how to manage this plant on shorelines, and some other invasive species to look out for! Join the movement to save shorelines and habitat.

Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be available.

Please consider a donation to Georgian Bay Forever. Your donation is so appreciated as it goes to funding training sessions like these - all well as projects, research and restoration activities that proect the water of Georgian Bay.
